In 2022, 121 companies and 2 associated organisations are part of the BDH. Just like the German machinery and plant engineering industry, the German heating industry is medium-sized in structure. However, some of the BDH members are also global market leaders with sales between 2 and 3 billion Euros. In 2021, the BDH member companies generated a total sales of 19.1 billion Euros and employed 81,200 people. The high R&D expenditure demonstrates the innovative capacity of this industry.
